Don't know why I didn't say anything yesterday when it happened ;w;. My grandma changed our fishes bowls. Even though I headed over there she was already in the process of cleaning out Picasso's bowl, much to my distress. Not that I didn't appreciate it, but he's my fish, I don't want her thinking I can't take care of him ;n;.
Well anyways I noticed he was losing color really fast after I put him back in his bowl. All his pretty red was turning into a dull brown, and in some places the color was practically draining away from his scales. Then I looked over at Remi and instead of pretty deep blue and red he was this weird light green color. It was kinda pretty but nowhere near his usual color.
My grandma put the correct water treatment in, just like usual, but when I stuck my hand in the water it was pretty cold!
So we took them both back into the kitchen and filled up and treated warmer water. We took a few cupfuls out of their bowls before pouring warmer water in and thankfully it warmed up their bowls, but not too much. Pretty soon their color came back...guess we better watch out when we change their water again. Too cold definitely isn't good, hopefully this'll be the first and last time that the water is too cold for them...
I'm just glad the both of them were alright in the end. They perked up really quick afterwards and Picasso started being his old grumpy self again XD
I didn't know their scales can change color. Who knew? It's good to know that they're doing fine now.
Yep, it was very strange to watch all the color turn dull and kinda drain away. Some of Picasso's scales turned a pinkish color. That's not the only time Picasso has ever changed color either. When he is really angry he turns this really bright red. Unfortunately it doesn't take much to get him angry ;w;
Yeah, I was worried for a while there, but they're happy now ^^.
